CHECKLIST FOR CREATING YOUR WHEN DID I GET LIKE THIS? EVENT

• Choose a venue: a local restaurant, your school gym, your local independent bookstore
• Plan a price for the evening that can include a signed copy of When Did I Get Like This? and whatever goodies are served— and possibly turn a profit for your organization
• Work with us to order books directly from the publisher—or to sell in partnership with your local bookstore
• Send a save-the-date to your group
• Plan simple refreshments—and most importantly for a moms’ night out, cocktails! (Even a bookstore can serve wine and cheese.) Get some of the dads to bartend!
• Send follow-up invitations, encouraging friends to invite more friends
• Create links your guests can post on Facebook and other social media to spread the word (we can help)
• Set-up for the evening: a table for the author to sign books, a place for Amy to talk, a microphone if it’s a large room. You’re done!
